98 V70 93k mi sputters and stalls
I have a 98 V70 which I bought a month ago with 93k miles. The car is in fine condition and I have maint records from prev owner - lots of work over the years.
The car runs great with the exception of random sputtering and stalling. Initially it was just at idle - stop lights etc. I cleaned the MAF and it was fine for about three weeks. Just yesterday evening, it did it again but this time at roughly 60mph on the hwy. sputterred and I pumped the gas pedal, which caused it to recover, but it did it again and had to do that all the way home.
From what I've read, this can be caused by a number of things, MAF, O2 sensor etc. I started the car this am in my driveway and let it idle to see if I have much fluctuation. it moved between 800 rpm and 1200 ish rpm. I popped the hood to take a look and when I opened the fuse box, I noticed there was no Air Pump relay at all. Not a bad one... none. I'm wondering if this could cause this issue? I'm guessing it would be a good idea to get a new relay.
By the way - I was running the AC when this happened, but I shut it off for the balance of the trip home.
I'm wondering how hard it is to replace the O2 sensors? Has anyone done this?
Any help would be much appreciated!
Thanks,
Casey
