Default 98 V70 driver door window switch

Hello all.
Quick question. On an 98 V70 driver side window switch. (All four windows), is it hard to replace and does anyone have one that they might want to part with that's good, in the US.
Mine is starting to goof up every so often, primarily on the rear passenger window which works fine with its own switch...
I don't know if they are worth to take apart and try and clean???
Thank you,
Anthony V.

Replacement is fairly simple. You need to get a spatula down between the switch and the frame around it. Work gently, because the frame can break if too much pressure is applied. You only need to pry it enough to get the metal clips on the switch to leave the catches in the door panel. Less than 1/4".

After removal, just unplug and swap with the new one. Check all your new switches first before re-seating just in case. There is no software for it like on the newer models, so if you've go the right one it's plug and play.

Ours goes for about $170 online, so don't pay more than that if you go OEM.

thank you very kindly for the reply. i will do my best not to break anything... as to the switch, i'll see if i can get it locally and maybe used though that might be trouble.... i wonder if i took the old one out and try to spray it clean or open it if possible and clean the contacts since it works on and off on that window, if that would help any???
funny that you mentioned software, being old school, i would've never thought of software on the switch... i guess it's a new world...

thank you again. i kept your location in case.
i'm in staten island ny, but you never know....

As long as you know what you're taking apart, and how to put it back together, it can't hurt to take a look at the contacts. I'd use some sort of dry method if I was going to try to clean them.

Yeah, these newer cars can get up past $600 for parts and labor, just for the door switch!

As I said, it's a new world. I wish my old things will last til I die so I want have to deal with the new "plastic" world...
Either way, thank you for your thoughts and I'll give it a try.
Thanks again and stay well.
