'98 V70 GLT vacuum line help
I recently got a CEL and the code indicates an EVAP problem. Possible causes included loose/missing/faulty fuel cap, bad vacuum line, hole in EVAP cannister and something about a bad solenoid? Excited that I may have located the problem, I found a broken vacuum line coming off of the air intake tube just after the MAF. The problem is that after over an hour of crawling around/in/over/under the engine compartment I can't seem to find where it should go?
In the photo attached it's the hose that comes off and elbows down (center of the shot) just behind the MAF. It has a black rubber connector that acts as an elbow and from there it's a white plastic tube of smaller diameter. That runs about 8" or so, then it turns into black rubber vacuum hose which is where the break happened. Can anyone tell me where I might find the evasive other end of this rascal?!?!

I know, it seems like it should be very simple. The hose is long enough to get down into the thick of things and neither I nor a couple of friends of mine can find it's destination point? I honestly was standing on the engine compartment shining around with a flashlight, and laying underneath with the car on ramps and I couldn't find anything...
I was hoping someone would be able to just trace the hose on their car with a similar engine configuration and give me some insight as to where I should be looking. Does your car have this vacuum hose per the picture I attached in the first post?
I'm guessing it's possibly related to the emissions or something not critical with relation to engine performance because the car sounds and runs normal and my fuel economy seems to be stable. As a matter of fact I drove it well over 300 miles today with no problems (knock on wood because I will be returning in a few days!).
Thanks.

I hear you
Hello, Your request is simple enough but I don't own a 1998 w/turbo. Mine's a 2002 non-turbo. It's funny and odd that in all my years of "shade treeing", vacuum tubing charts, and the like, are as scarce as hen's teeth. There was a time when a few could be found on radiator supports. Perhaps you need to start a "Someone with a 1998 GLT..." thread? Try posting this question, with the picture, on the brickboard. Kira
