Default '98 V70 vacuum hose replacement

Folks,

I need to replace a broken gas vacuum hose connecting the canister to the fuel tank. The hose runs from the canister under the battery to the fuel tand thru behind the wheel fender I guess. What is the best way to replace it?

I think it will be easier to access it if the protection rubber cover in the wheel well is removed, but it doesn't seem to come off easily. It's fixed to the fender and the front bumper with the small studs. Or the fender itself needs to be removed to access the hose?

Thanx for any suggestions!

The hose that goes into the fender connects to a valve in the fender.
The line from the canister to the tank runs across the front of the subframe then back on the passenger side of the car.

Yeah, it is the hose that runs into the fender. Do you have a procedure to replace it?

You have to drill out the rivets in the wheel well then remove the plastic liner.
What did an animal eat it?

Well, it actually got cut about an inch from where it was attached to the canister. Not sure how it happened but the hose itself looks worn out too. Thanx for the tip. If that is the only way then I will drill out the rivets. Wonder why Volvo came up with the idea of using rivets instead of normal screws.

Not sure why they did that but it is a Pita.
On the bright side the rivets are cheap. Even at the dealer they are like $3.00 for like 12 of them.
