Just cleaned the MAF and Throttle body. Drove the car around the block run much better, felt great even! I went inside feeling happy and satisfied. 20 mins later I went out and figured I would double check on the car.... WRONG! Now it wont Idle at all, flutters between 800-1300 RPM, I can rev it past 3000 and it basically runs like a POS. And the ETS light is on now.. I let everything dry, used the proper cleaners, the car run great the first time I drove it...Any advice?

 

I would look for a lose vaccuum line first.

 

Ok does your ETS light come on and go off seconds later? Or does your ETS light come on and stay on?

If it comes on and stays on your ETM is at fault.

 

Callyour dealer to see if this has been done.

Summary:
ON CERTAIN PASSENGER VEHICLES, A COMBINATION OF THROTTLE POSITIONING SENSOR IRREGULARITIES, A DIRTY THROTTLE HOUSING, AND/OR INEFFICIENT SOFTWARE CALIBRATION MAY CAUSE A WARNING LAMP TO LIGHT AND THE SUBSEQUENT ONSET OF LIMP HOME MODES.

Consequence:
THIS RESULTED IN A HIGH NUMBER OF VEHICLES GOING INTO THE LIMP HOME MODE WITHOUT NEED.

Remedy:
DEALERS WILL INSTALL THE CURRENT SOFTWARE UPGRADE ONTO THE INVOLVED VEHICLES. THE RECALL BEGAN ON DECEMBER 29, 2006. OWNERS MAY CONTACT VOLVO AT 1-800-458-1552.

Thanks guys, I did call the dealer they made me an appointment, it had not been taken in for THIS recall even though I was just there two months ago and have "all" of the current recalls done so we'll see how this goes. The ETS light comes on and stays. And the rmps are jumping all over the place. I just cant believe it happened from a cleaning that actually helped the car at first then messed something up.. Again thanks for the replies.
