Default '99 v70 three questions

Hi guys,
I have three quick q's:

1. After reconnecting the battery, I proceed to input the correct radio code, but the radio does not turn on - no music etc. The code just remains on the display? No ERROR message. I've read the manual a few times and have no clue of what I'm doing incorrectly. The radio worked before the car was put away for the winter. After inputing the code is there another key that needs to be pressed, of does the code need to be programmed more than once in a sequence? Help. (p.s. the battery in the car needs to be replaced so I wonder if this is affecting the radio)

2. The battery hold down - I hate to admit this, but I can't seem to get it back on without it poping off. What am I doing wrong?
and finally,
3. I am going out to purchase a new Interstate battery for the car this week. I've searched on here and in many threads owners are installing an #48 sized battery as opposed to the recommended #47 size. The #48 is about 2 inches longer. Does the increased size require any modifications to the battery tray or the hold down clip.
TIA
-Andrew

Yes the battery problem may be effecting your radio. Are you sure you have all the numbers, I have 4.

When you say battery hold down, are you referring to the clip on the trey? If it's popping off, maybe you don't have the battery all the way in.

I would install any battery that was rated for the car no matter the size. I put a Wal-Mart battery in our S70 GLT.
