ABS module
My car is currently in for surgery on her ABS module. I'm hoping it has some positive effects on my transmission behaviour as well. I'll keep you posted. The mech called me today asking for the go ahead to replace something in the drive train that is messing with the network. Its'll cost between 5 and 7 (god i hope thats 100s - no i'm sure it is) I didn't understand what he was talking about (he's an auto electrician, not my normal mechanic) Anyone have anyu ideas what it might be that could be screwing my network?
I have Emmission, ABS and DSTC messages, i think the hardware he wants to replace is Emission related.

RE: ABS module
I should have it back late today. I'll let you know what it was and how differently my car drives.
reading these forums there seems to be so many causes of dodgy transmission in these cars. its quite the process (and an expensive one) gettting to the bottom of these problems. I hope its nearly over.

RE: ABS module
ABS module was fine. One of the speed sensors was broken and not even installed properly. More evidence of the doodgy work that had been done on her before i bought her i think. So it hasn't effected the drive. Still incostistent responsiveness. The main symptom of the dodgy shifting now is a delay when she changes down, say to go round a corner. When i put my foot down again to accelarate out, theres a delay in the throttle response. Very frustrating when i want to drive like an idiot. It almost like my Volvo station wagon is forcing my to drive like a soccer mom!!
