Default Acceleration sensor on 98 v70

So i have a 98 v70 with a bad Acceleration sensor. i have not done testing yet to confirm this, but that is the DTC i get. My question is, what effect will this have on the car if it is not fixed immediately? Will it be ok to drive it like this for any period of time? Will the gas millage drop? will there be any damage? any insight would be greatly appreciated everyone. Thanx in advance!

I doubt it will take the motor out. It may make it run like crap though.
