After Market ABS Module for '98 V70 XC
Hello!
I am in a pickle... I bought my used Volvo a couple years ago and have had to make multiple repairs. I love my car and realize that Volvo's are expensive to maintain; but, I love my car regardless...
My pickle is this:I took my car in for repairs because it was making a clicking noise. I walked out of the repair shop withnew motor mounts. The problem is the noise is worse. My ABS/Tracs Off lights are on. I was told by a Volvo dealership in Omaha, NE that I needed a new ABS Module and that would cose nearly $1600. GULP! That is all fine and dandy, I once had the scratch to pay for that repair. Once is the opportune word! I have since left my moderately lucrative job in advertising to fulfill a dream/need. Iam now a "paid" volunteer with AmeriCorps in Georgia. AmeriCorps is the "domestic" Peace Corps. I work with kids (6-18 years old) in a residential psychiatric treatment facility as a literacy tutor.
Enough about me... I wonder if anyone knows anything about an after market ABS module or a rebuilt one. Is there such a thing? If so, where should I look? What do they usually run? What is the repair time, or hours the mechanic could charge me for this?
Thanks for any kind of response. I love my car and don't want to sell it!!! OR, cash in/take a loan out onmy 401K to pay for the repair

I sent mine to him and evidently someobody who owned the car before me screwed something up so he could not rebuild it. So he sold me another unit for $250. Victor is a good guy to do business with.
