Default After Market Half Shafts

Went to the stealer today to schedule the fuel pump recall service (01 V70 T5a). While I was there I asked the price on the half shafts as I have a very slight noise on my driver side that only presents itself when turning hard left and there is a slight bump. They quoted About $500 a side which I thought was NUTS. What's the current forum recommendation on where to purchase quality replacements?

Have you tried to lube the steering stops yet?
The aftermarket ones are so so. I have installed some that vibrated right away after installing them.

Tech, thank you for the reply. I thought the stops were fixed and have never heard of applying a lub. Can you please elaborate as to where, how and what is the perfered lub?

Any mind of grease or anti seize. You can put it on the plastic pieces on the control arm or the curved metal part on the hub itself.

Worth trying for sure. I am wondering if I've ever hit the stops as my tires rub (since new, and 3rd set of tires), so I back off when I hear that noise and probably never hit the stops. Can you adjust the stops to prevent this?

You can put a few washers between the stops and control arms to move the stop out. That should also stop the tires from rubbing as well.
