I just bought a 2005 V70 2.5T with an HU650 HU and steering wheel controls. I want to install an aftermarket nav/stereo and I'm considering a Kenwood DNX7140. My installer tells me it won't be a problem. He's done Volvo's before and we've researched some of the tricks you have to do with the electronics. The one answer we haven't been able to find is if we can make the steering wheel controls work for volume and next track. My research so far says to use a Dietz adapter but I don't know where to get one or if it's still sold. I can't find anything for Volvo's on the Dietz web site. Does anyone know if they still sell something for this and if I can buy it in the US? Any other concerns/tricks/gotchas we need to know about? I'm not doing this myself - I'm having a shop do it that we trust and has installed several systems for us before - just not in a Volvo. We're typically GM folks but we're loving this car which is our first Volvo.
