Default Ball joints and low profile tires???

I changed my winter wheels for newly acquired alloy wheels on my 98 V70

While changing them over, I noticed the left front wheel moving around quite a bit.
Upon closer inspection, the movement is at the ball joint.

Can a guy who is pretty handy tackle this repair??

Where can I get parts, reasonably priced? what do I need.

As well, I'm not certain I like the ride with these low profile tires I put on, from a 99 V70 Turbo.
Ride is a lot harsher, and with all the bumpy roads I encounter, I'm going to need new fillings in my teeth...

Look forward to feedback real soon.

Terry

I have three size wheels for my 850. I don't care for the ride at all with the 17" wheels, but I like the handling. The ride is smoother with the 15" wheels but it corners kind of sloppy. I now have a set of 16" wheels from my old 94 850 Turbo. They need tires, but it isn't a bad ride, but one of the wheels is bent and there is a big chip out of one of them. Don't know much about changing the ball joints.

You will have to replace the entire lower control arm. But it is pretty easy to do.
