Morning!

Looks like I need a new battery. Been checking around places other than the Volvo dealer where they want to charge me $120.00. Napa can do it for a little less than $100. Last place I called asked me if I knew the battery group type...said I was looking for either a 42 or 47 maybe?

Anyone know this right off hand as I'm at work and 1) don't have the tool to look at the battery to find out and 2) too lazy to get out of my cushy seat.

Also, any discount or good pricing shopping ideas would be great.

Well to be honest you shouldn't have to know what type of battery or group it is.

As they can check in their computers and if they can't don't buy from them.

Thanks so much for your response. I found out thru another parts dealer that it is a type 91. Got a price of $79.88 at Advance Auto. Lowest price so far by about $20.

I know JPN swears by Interstate batteries. I bought mine at Advance Auto and have no complaints. I thought it was closer to $70, but not real sure since it's been a little while. I tried a real cheap one from a Walmart type store, but it would not fit in the car.

 

FYI the interstate Battery part # would be a MT-47. Most interstates come with a 5 year replacement.
