Battery Voltage and D+ Signal Too Low?
Hello,
I have a 1999 Volvo V70 T5 wagon and the other day the generator warning light went off and on for a minute or two while driving on the highway. Each time the warning light came on the heater would shut off. At one point the speedometer even dropped to 0 for a few seconds. I've driven it about 50+ miles since then without incident but I've also been driving with the heater and radio off just to be safe.
I took the car to a Volvo mechanic and he was unable to detect anything wrong with the alternator other than seeing the following diagnostic codes:
ABS-0074 Battery voltage Signal too low
CDM-000A D+ signal Signal too low
ECM-4308 Leak diagnostic, major leak - Major leak
He wasn't certain what was wrong but suggested that the alternator may need to be replaced. I also took the car to AutoZone and they tested it and said everything checked out fine but that the battery was at 92%.
I don't know if it's the battery, the regulator, the alternator, or something else at this point. Does anyone have any ideas or suggestions? Thanks in advance!

Check the battery cables starting at the battery terminals. Made sure everything is clean and snug. Check the other ends too. A vast number of problems come from loose or dirty connections. Sometimes the problem is between the cable and the terminal that's attached to it.
