BIG Coolant problem in V70 '99
I hope someone can help me. I have a warning light light for the coolant/radiator coming on. Also Steam started coming out of the vents. I have refilled the coolant several times and observed the steam coming out inside the car. Someone told me I might have a Heating coils leak? If this is true, how can I fix this myself as I'm short on cash. I own a 1999 V70. I appriciate any help.

Push the clips on the hoses where they go into the firewall and remove both hoses.
Then install a piece of hose between both of them and you will be good to go for now.
Try not to have the kinked to bad to still allow the coolant to flow through the hoses.
Also remember you won't have heat if you do that.

Thanks guys! I'm about to try to remove the heater core tonight. Good to know the thing is filled with liguid still, I must admit I thought it would have drained out after I by-passed it. Since I by-passed it the radiator is working normal as is the level of the coolant. Obviously, must be Heater core, thus it's coming out tonight and we'll see if it's fixable.
