brake Pad Size and Type
Hello,
I am new to the forum and am looking for ideas on the type of brake pads to purchase and size of the front brake pads. We are fortunate to own an amazing 2002 V70 - 121,000 miles and going strong. We purchased it in the states but are now living in Italy (in the service). The car needs new front and rear brake pads that I would like to order on line.
1. I have seen good and bad on OEM pads. I am looking for pads that don't squeal and that will last on the highways of Europe (often driving at 80-85MPH and sometimes require quick braking).
2. Is their a way to determine the size of the front brake pad/rotors with out having a dealer check the vin?
Thanks!

I can't comment on the size issue but, if Akebono "Eurosport" (ceramic) pads are available in Italy, I would highly recommend them. I fitted them, front and rear, to my '03 V70 2.4T. Braking feel and function is excellent, the (newly fitted) disks look new after ~ 12,000 miles and there is no noise and practically no dust.
