Buying 1998 V70

Since you're a body and paint guy put it up on the lift and look it over well for accident damage/repair, especially any frame damage. Even have an alignment tech look at it too if possible.
Have it ckd out by a competant volvo tech (before you buy); preferably an indy that you know and trust. Do a thorough once over cking compression, cooling system, suspension, etc. Best is if they have service records for you to peruse. Timing belt is due on these at about 70K intervals so ck for that.
Turbo is good (unless you don't like pwr?); XC not so much IMO; more to go wrong; search the posts here and at other sites for some background on that.
BTW: '98 was best yr for S/V70 IMO, so if it cks out and the price is right, go for it!
