Default cam belt

hello,[sm=groupwave.gif] ill start from saying hi to everybody,can any one help me with some advise i have a 2000 v70 2.5 i And the cam belt snapped when the car was doing about 70mph no big noise or bang ! i fear the worst for the engine but is there any chance of sorting it out for less than what the car is worth ? or if not what do i do with the car with no engine ?ebay,scrap,spares.?????????thanks sam

You have several options. One is to find another engine for the car and replace it. Another option is part the car out, but that takes time and would probably be a hassle. I've never done it, but you can get more for the car that way. The other option is to just sell it "AS IS". Three or four years ago I sold a 94 850 Turbo with a blown engine for $850 to the independent Volvo repair shop that I had it towed to.
