Default Car sluggish

Folks

Looking for a little bit of advice. My 2000 V70 2.4 automatic is sluggish when driving. It seems to be when the gears need to change that it starts spluttering as if there is a fuel problem.

I have had the throttle body cleaned out, new plugs, coil packs checked, analysed on a diagnostics machine and a new fuel filter fitted but to no avail.

Has anyone else experienced this? Any suggestions on what it could be?

Thank you in advance.

What type of plugs did you install? Do you have any CEL codes? Maybe you need to check compression.

Yes lots of people experience HESITATION. You can search that word. Also, at what RPM does it seem to happen?

Have you had the PCV system serviced?

Spluttering was happening before new plugs however I believe they are Bosch plugs.

It appears to happen between 1500 - 2000 rpm.

I haven't had the PCV system services and I am sorry I don't know what that is.

No error codes being generated when placed on the diagnostic machine.

Sorry for being vague, I am merely a driver and rely on my local garage to carry out all the work.

Have the car check real good for vacuum leaks. Also the PCV system can be clogged and in need of service. That doesn't usually cause hesitation but can. Check the FLAME TRAP and you may want to call around to have someone change that for you. Look in the 850 section to see what the PCV system is, you can search PCV and find good info about it. Your car is basically an improved 850. Chech out the DIY sticky in the 850 section.

Make sure your plugs are gapped properly, run 91+ octane gas for a tank or two. Those cars are suppose to have 91+ octane run in them.

I would consider putting OEM Volvo plugs in the car. Some spark plugs, especially SUPER plugs don't do well in these cars.

Your car has a electronic throttle and have been know to have failures which cause the car to run rough. It can be that or a MAF going bad.
