Climate control panel LED lights always on

I have 2005 V70 2.4. The LED lights on the climate control module (CCM) are always on. I checked the fuse and it is ok. I unplugged/plugged the battery - it did not solve the problem. The system (fan, AC, front and back defrost, fan etc...) works fine. The problem is that the LED lights are always on.
After I turn off the engine and remove the key from the ignition and after a delay of approximately 30 seconds the LED lights are turned off. I start the car and all CCM LED lights come back on for as long as the engine is running.
Tracing back my steps, the night before the problem started, I plugged an air pump in the front 12V connection (on the CCM panel) to blow the tires on the car. The 12v connection is working fine. I also removed the fuse for the 12V (thinking there might be a short between the 12v and the CCM panel) but that did not solve the problem.
Any ideas before I take it to the dealer.
Your assistance is truly appreciated.
