Default Cloudy Headlight assembly HELP

Just bought a 2007 V70. It is still under warranty until September. Car lived in FL before dealer brought it to New England. Headlight assemblies look cloudy. Repair logs shows it was seen by dealer in FL and identified to have lights looked at before Sept. Previous owner did not want to have that service done down there. Is this a typical problem for the headlight assemblies? Reasonbable to bring to local dealer and have these replaced (obviously under warranty)? Thanks

Hello, Of course it's reasonable to bring this to a dealer for replacement. What are you waiting for? Get on this NOW. Generate as much paper on this matter as you can. Get it established that you reported this matter in May, June or whenever it was. The dealer will have all Summer to find the parts for you. Do repost and tell us what experience you have. Remember, your rights don't mean anything if you don't exercise them. Kira

Thanks, Kira. So far, after 2.5 days, we really like the V70. Just gotta figure out what else I need/can get done under warranty while it is still available. The lights absopultely seem reasonable and important to do for safety.

My headlights mist up occasionally so I take the covers off inside the engine compartment until the moisture evaporates!

Default Since your under warranty

Hello, Do this yourself or pay a mechanic to: Inspect your shocks and struts for leaks as well as any "joint" in the front end. Look at every engine "seam" and seal for leaks. Brake calipers and lines for leaks. Run every toy in your car; that includes Cruise Control, every function of the radio-use the fader (front to rear) and the balance (left to right) to isolate any crackling speakers, Power Seats in every direction they go, Power Mirrors, Power Door Locks, the functioning of any Auto Dimming Mirrors you may have, Sunroof, Moonroof, Jupiter roof, Check your steering rack for leaks. Plug your car into a reader and check for any codes. Any interior gadget-headrest positioning tab, retracting safety net. My car was more reasonably priced because the P.O.'s kids broke a few visible things in the interior. Volvo's system can actuate all the electric bits from a laptop, I believe. Your 2007, with ? miles, might be in need of a transmission flush. Maybe have those done as maintenance at this time. That would be money well spent. Kira
