Default Control arm bushes

Hi all

I need to replace the bushes on the front control arms but I'm getting mixed answers.

On IPD's website they say that you can use the bushes for an XC70 as a slight upgrade (slightly stiffer) but indy guys say you can't. Who is right?
The indy guys also reckon they have to send the control arms to some engineering place they use and they fit the new bushes. I thought they just simple press out the old ones and press in the new ones, am I right?

Cheers.

Its not as easy as it sounds/looks.
I have seen people at the Dealer snap the control arms using the special tools to replace the bushings.
It might just be easier to replace the entire control arm. Will cost a little more but save alot of time/hassle.

My wallet is a little thin at the moment (spent so much on the car these last couple of months) and getting the bushings is about half the price of getting the complete arm. Maybe I'll just get the normal bushes (V70) and take the control arms to Volvo for them to press it in. If they break them then they can buy me new ones

Sorry to hear/read about your job. Maybe it's time to open your own shop
