Wow, what a difference! Now I don't have to play guess the gear when selecting a gear and wonders of wonders, the gear selector quadrant actually shows the same gear selected as teh one I am in, and the reverse lights come on every time!
Seriously cheap and easy repair to do, IPD has a kit with all the bushes and makes the car feel very new.
It might even prevent an accidental reverse gear selection one day.

Nice fix. I did mine a few months ago and it sure made a difference.
