Dash warning lights
Just picked up my new V70 2000 model today (not turbo) running great but dash lights randomly coming on, low coolant being the worst though there is plenty of coolant & only got temp gauge up to halfway even though it did 120km in the heat today. Mostly ABS and other brake warning light then very ocassionly speedo & clock drops out then comes back when those lights go off? ANyone got ideas? Do I need a new ABS sensor of some sort thats what the old owner thought. The low coolant stays on all the time now though. Not sure if radiator fan kicking in when irt should too but wouldn't it have got really hot if that wasn't workinf? Thanks for any help, bit more complicated than my old 240 wagon.

...ideas?
Hello, As always, tell us the mileage of your car please. The PO is probably on the right track about the ABS unit. Removal is easy. Check it yourself for cold solder joints or just send it to Vic for his rebuild service. If the coolant reservoir is full then your sensor is bad. It's mounted in the bottom of the reservoir and just pulls out of it's indentation-EZ to do. The temperature gauge only goes up to ~ halfway. You're in good shape on that one. If all the dash lights come on then check the condition of your battery and all the cables for cleanliness and tightness as a first step. Inspect all of your fluids, your brakes too. Give the air cleaner a look. Check your spare tire for air. Cabin air filter. Good luck with it, Kira
