Dash Warning Lights Christmas Tree!
I think my car is trying to tell me something... only problem is its doing it all at once!
I have a 99 V70 Automatic.
I was driving my car one day (on a very bumpy road) when the ABS light came on followed by the Check Engine light, the ABS light went out and then the SHIFT ARROW started flashing... but all seemed normal except for all the Christmas lights on my dash.
I pulled over turned off the engine and restarted, the Shift (flashing)ARROW and Check Engine light were still on and the engine seemed to lack power, but did not enter LIMP mode.
I made it home and hit the Volvo Forums... my conclusion was it could have been bad fuel, but most likely the ABS module... the next morning Christmas was over the tree was down as the lights were all gone... except for the Check Engine...and all seemed normal. I had the check engine light diagnoised and nothing came up and the mechanic could only clear the Check Engine code after 3 attempts (WIERD).
The day after, all fine, but then we must have hit the next holiday as the New Years Fireworks show hit my dash and the lights came on again... and poor acceleration happened again.
When I got home I noticed that when I wiggle the ignition key and can turn on or turn off all the dash warning lights... ODD INDEED...
My question is this, could a bad ignition switch be the root of ll these problems and can it trigger poor acceleration? Or am I having a case of wishful thinking in that I'm thinking that all I have to replace is the ignition switch?
Thanks in advance for your thoughts on this!
