Default debugging no cooling fan - V70 XC AWD Turbo

The 1st thing I noticed is that I was losing coolant, eventaully I became aware that I was spilling it out near the bottle when hot, boiling over as it were.

I just now let it heat up in the garage, running for about 20 min, it started to get real hot, too hot and I noticed 2 things, no fan and the temp gague inside was just a bit above 1/2 way.

I ran a test lead from the yellow and red wire into the fan relay to the green and also the red wire out of the fan relay and the fan kicked in just fine. But the fan won't start otherwise. I jumped the two leads on the fan relay and it didn't start the fan, but maybe those need some voltage to flip?

Anyway, I bought a new fan relay, but I'm wondering if that is the issue, or is it some sort of faulty temp sensor and that's why the temp gague doesn't get into the red.

help?

Default Any results for fan relay?

Did replacing the dual-speed fan relay fix the problem?
