Default Dodgy electrics.

Hello all. I am new to the forum but not new to Volvo. Current car is a 2000 V70 2.4T which I have owned for 6 years. My previous Volvo was a 240 which I had for about the same period.
I am having issues at the moment and I am wondering if anyone else here has suffered the same problems. A week last Friday I noticed the headlights were on but when I tried to turn them off I found that the switch was in the off poition anyway. So, headlights are on all the time, on dip. They will flash on main beam but will not stay on main beam. The dashboard display lights are now so dim that I cannot see any messages unless it is almost dark. This affects the odometer, the trip, outside temperature, gear selection indicater and the radio display is not on at all. Both the switches that control the dimming of the dashboard lights and the levelling of the headlights have stopped working. Now this could be a red herring but the driver's window will not auto close. I now have to keep the switch pulled up untill the window is completely shut.
If anyone has previous experience of the above issues I would be very pleased to be put out of my misery.
