Default 01 T5 intake question.

Is there supposed to be a hose that comes off the bottom part of the filter box? Mine has an opening with four spots that it looks like a hose would clip into, but no hose to be found in searching the interwebs. I looked under the car and also found what might look like the other end of where a hose would connect to the front splash guard/air damn thing. I was considering procuring some flexible tubing and running it down there or seeing how fancy I could get with some PVC, but if there's a stock option that works splendidly I'd definitely rather go with that.

Yeah, on our 07 V70R it has that same cap in the box. Not sure why it is there either, butI have seen some people put a pipe there to the front to bring in more cold air(well what is out side). It would be a fun thing to do, and fairly easy. IPD sellsa kitfor the "R", but its like $80. You could do it your self for like $10.

Yeah, I was figuring that was probably the case. I wish I had the foglights like on the R so I could use that type of setup, but I think right there behind the front bumper, should be high enough pressure to get the same effect.

Not my car or my pic found on the web.
But if you look in the pic just past the intercooler pipe you will see where the hose comes up to just above the radiator. It has one that goes from the bottom half of the air box up to the top of the radiator.

Ah ha. Well bugger all but mine is entirely gone =D

Looks like it's junkyard hoppin time. I can't imaging sucking that toasty hot engine bay air is such a great thing for economy or power.

Just thought I'd follow up on this one since I've replaced it. There are two parts to it and combined from the local dealer they were $46. The junk yards didn't have any and they said if they did it would be $75 just for the large part alone.
