Any idea why my 1999 V70 wagon driver side front door will not open either from the inside or the outside? Door lock **** goes up and down and the key works as it should, but door will not unlock. Any help greatly appreciated.

 

That is usually that the latch assembly is bad.
You might have to break the door panel apart to get in there. Then break the latch assembly apart to get it open and install a new latch.

 

Ooh goody! I always love an excuse for the hammer and pry bar! Can I try? Ask a fellow police officer to use his techniques. Worked for me on my 84 Rabbit. Though I am sure these cars are a bit different.

At least with it open you can get to the door panel easier.
