Hello all, I am a new owner to volvo with a 2000 v70 se(nonturbo). The car is a 2 owner car and has 84000 miles. I have noticed a clunking or rattling in the front end when I go over some rough roads. I am a capable mechanic and try to do all my own work. I'd just like to get some ideas on the problem and also know if this is something that I can repair myself.

Oh, I also sometimes experience the car going dead right after I crank it up. Any ideas?

 

For the noise check the upper spring seat if you can turn the upper strut nut the seat is bad. Also check the sway bar links.

For the stalling try cleaning the throttle body.
