I've got a 2004 V70 Wagon. I recently noticed a fuel smell coming from the rear passenger side of the car, that you can only smell from the outside; no smell inside. It's also been a little slow to start lately (takes 2 cranks every single time) and is noticeably sluggish.
I've just taken a proper look, and it there's definitely some fuel slowly dripping from the fuel filter. The lines on either side are dry though, and the filter itself very rusty (I bought the vehicle used, so no idea if it's ever even been replaced). Basically my question is: will replacing the fuel filter solve the issue? I've seen some other posts where people have said that the fuel pump is the problem when you have a leak like this, but that doesn't really make sense to me if the leak is completely isolated right around what is clearly a pretty aged filter.
Would appreciate any feedback! Thank you

When the pump leaks, fuel is on the bottom of the fuel tank. Your problem certainly looks like it is isolated to just the filter. I would replace the filter.
