just bought a v70 20 valve with a auto bo just quickly looking under neath notice there is a oil leak, not having time to investegate yet an see a plate which is soaked in oil are the ear boxes quite excessable from under neathe hope its jst a gasket on the plate ay other idears common probs ect cheers

 

Could be a rear main engine seal.

 

havnt been able to get underneath yet so hope its something simple

 

Likely the rear main seal as tech has alluded to.

when I first spotted the 98 v70 I just bought I had the dealer agree to fixing the problem (at his expense) before I would buy it.

glad I did cuz it was 500.00 cdn to have it fixed.
