Handy Tools
Since getting my 2001 V70 in September I've been doing a lot of work replacing worn parts and doing routine maintenance and there are a couple of new tools I have that have proven very useful.
One tool is a headlamp made by Coleman with a very bright LED and good battery life. You can get these headlamps at Wal Mart for about $25. You may look like a geek wearing the headlamp but always having a bright pin point light while having your hands free is really nice. I use it all the time now. I use NiMh rechargables and get about 3 hours of light on the brightest setting. The light was great when I was changing my timing belt, working on my tailgate latch and doing front suspension work.
The other tool was a gift and it has proven especially handy working on my Volvo. It is rechargable rachet. Not a lot of torque but it is great for taking off the 7 splash pan bolts and anytime you need run a bolt in or out and then tighten by hand.
