Question Hard down shifts

My V70 transmission shifts fine when cold, but after driving it for 10 minutes or more, it down shifts hard. It acts like it is shifting ramdomly. It is getting progressively worst. Help will be greatly appreciated.

Default All together now....

Hello, Model year, mileage and trim level of car please. We can't tell you to service your unit (flush and see to updates) without this info. Kira

Hello, Given that your fluid is black I would disconnect the lower transmission cooling line at the radiator and do the complete flush were it my car. Drain the black stuff out of your transmission sump (3.5 qts.) via the drain plug (24mm hex head). You'll need an 18mm aluminum crush washer. Get them from site sponsors or in a two pack on the rack of generic stuff in parts stores. Replace the 3.5 qts with new and do the flush 2 qts at a time. You can see the fluid turn clean through the 1/2" clear plastic drain hose. Put one end in boiling water so it gets soft and easily stretches over the end of the cooling line. The only other things you'll need are the two O rings and a spare plastic clip for the transmission line and old containers marked at 2 qt. increments. The O rings get replaced, the clip is necessary in case you break yours. My plastic clip didn't break but it could've. A dealer can look up your car's vin to see if the TCM has been updated or not. It's easy to do. Kira

might be wise to also install an external transmission cooler.

Default Transmission shifts down hard.

I flushed the transmission using the Mobil 3309 ATF. Transmission shifts up a lot better no slips and performed well for 10 minutes, then the hard shift down returned, but this is only the 2-1 shift mutch better than before. I still going to have the TCM reflashed. It has the 002F code in it. Does any one know about the torque strut on top of tne engine, mine seems lose it has at least 1/8" play inside the bracket. All info will be greatly appreciated.
