Default Heater issues

98 V70 AWD 198k. When I place the CC setting to anything past ice cold say 64 degrees I keep getting an antifreeze odor in the car. I must have a leak somewhere in the CC sys because I have to keep adding coolant if I have been using any setting other than ice cold. I suspect the heater core. Has anyone had this problem and could there be any other component that is the culprit other than the core. Also any tips on removing the core would be helpful

Default Core

Hello, Replacement procedure for heater core replacement is on one of these boards (Bay 13 or Brickboard). Sorry for that incomplete answer. They say it's straightforward. I have read several posts which claimed to have done this job in 2 hours or less. Do not give in to the temptation to add "stop leak" to your cooling system. Kira

Ck the carpet for being wet from leaking coolant.
