Help with 1998 V70 t5 low speed fan code and evap canister code
Hi everyone. I tried to search the forums but couldn't find specifics for these issues
I have a 1998 V70 T5 Manual transmission that I have been working on try to sort out 2 persistent OBD codes
First issue:
Code "Efi 514 engine coolant fan lo speed" - I checked and all the wires to the Relay (in the fan shroud) appear to be intact, so I replaced the relay with2 different ones from other cars, cleared the codes, then started the car up and the codes came back immediately.
Some sources talk about a "low speed resistor" for the fan but I cant find a part number or picture of what it might look like.
Any advice on where to go from here? Do I just replace the whole fan assembly?
Second issue:
Efi 616 canister valve - I dont see anything obviously broken or disconnected at the evap canister. Im seeing crazy prices for replacement canisters - is that really what Im looking at or is there something else to check before blowing money on a new one? Would it do anything bad (other than an alway-on check engine light) to just drive it without replacing the canister/dealing with this code?
Thanks in advance - any input GREATLY appreciated
