I need some help on my 2000 Volvo v70, it isn't a turbo.
I was driving one driving one day when my engine light came on, I could not figure out what it was so I brought it to a friend who read had a scanner. He scanned it, read the code and it turns out it was the Air Mass Sensor.

So before I bought a new one, I took off the Air Mass Sensor from my 1999 s70 which is the exact same, I put it on my v70 and 70km later the light came back on. So I don't think it is the Air Mass Sensor. Does anyone have any ideas what it can be? Ideas? Suggestions? Tips?

you could try cleaning it. there is only one type of cleaner you should use, and if you can't find it in town,

it can take the computer quite a few miles to throw a code, so it probably is your MAF throwing the code and not something else. if that doesn't help you may need a new one.

 

Thanks for the response. But what happened is the origional MAF that came with the car I cleaned a couple times, then 70km later it came back. So I took the MAF out and out a new one in from my 1999 S70 and 70km later it came back.

So I don't think it is the MAF but something else? Near it? Ideas?
