Default Help! Key stuck, Car wont respond!

Hello! I have a 2010 Volvo V70. The problem started when the car wouldnt start and additionally the key got stuck in the dash. It would not eject and a quick “key battery low” popped up on the dash then went black. I pulled it out with pliers and replaced the battery in the fob. I put it back in, but the car still didn’t start. I jumped the battery with cables and drove home. When I was home I tried to start the car again and it still would not work. Additionally after I put it in park it said “put the car in park” on the dash even though it was in park then went black. I had to pull the fob out with pliers and the alternate key i have does not work either. Neither unlock the car doors right now. Not sure whats going on, my first instinct is to replace the battery, or at least but Im starting to suspect a CEM issue. Truly though I have no idea.
Any help appreciated!!!

Okay thank you! There is now a strong sulfur smell, the headlights are flickering and there is bubbling sounds coming from the battery. I will disconnect it tonight and replace it tomorrow.

How did you get on with the key fob problem? I got the same problem today, fob eventually came out but both are now dead. Worst part the start button now starts car without fobs in the car.

Hey Im sorry to hear! It ended up being the battery. Once the battery was replaced the problem was solved.
