Help! Oil in Radiator
Came home this evening and check on my new used '04 V70 2.5T and found oil (I assumed it's transmission fluid) in the coolant reservoir. I bracing for the worst here. I don't see a radiator cap on this thing...where do I start troubleshooting...I'm going crazy here'cause this was a great deal...too good to be true it seems.
Just check the transmission fluid and it has a nice purple color. I still can't find the radiator cap to check if there's oil in it. The car had an oil cooler replaced last year. Could it be remnants of that? Have to clean out the reservoir and see if the oil comes back. Is it safe to drive? It's not overheating and the transmission is smooth. Got a 10 hr. trip planned for next month and would like to clear this up before then. Thanks for all your inputs, Tech.
There is no radiator cap. It is only through the bottle.
The oil cooler should be seperate from the radiator system.
I would drive it some and see if it changes color again in the bottle.
