my wifes V70 wagon has a light on the dash indicating the rear gate is open. eventhough the gate is closede, the light is still illuminated.
i have looked around the frame of the gate and do not see a switch to test.
anyone outhere know what to look for to troubleshoot this problem.

The latch for the tailgate is bad.The switch is part of the latch assembly.

 

it just happened to me. check the fuses in the engine compartment. i cant remember which number it is but it is a 10a fuse that is blown indicating a door warning. you should be able to figure it out from there
