Hesitates while driving, stalls at idle - intermittent
All, have a 99 V70. Started hesitating very bad while driving, but only intermittently. warmed up or cold. dry weather or wet weather. very intermittent. No codes. No lights. mechanic could not replicate, but even passengers could feel hesitation while driving. mechanic went over all vacuum hoses and replaced one. This gave better power, and symptoms went away for a few weeks, but came back. could have also been coincidental as hesitation/stall will happen everyday for a few weeks, then not at all for a few weeks. Sometimes better on full tank, but sometimes happens on full tank. Would sometimes stall at idle, but would always start back up. Finally would not stay started.
Mechanic is replacing antenna ring, which makes sense for the not staying started.
My question: Could a failing antenna ring also cause the car to hesitate while driving?
I'd like to know your experiences before I pick up the car thinking it will be OK.
Thank you!

I've never heard of the antenna ring making an engine stumble - I'd be more inclined to think you may have an issue with fuel delivery - ie the fuel pump relay, the fuel pressure sensor (not sure if your year has the variable pressure pump), the pump etc. Intermittent problems really are hard to pin point - but I would consider swapping out the relay on a guess since its easy and they do fail from time to time. Since you are getting the ring replaced, please post back if your problem goes away or reappears later...
