How to clear Service Engine Light - thanks Tech!
#21
Hi Junkprospector, and everyone else. I have a V70 first registered in the UK at the end of 1998 so it's an S reg for all you UK members. I followed the service light resetting procedure with holding the odometer reset button in, turning the ignition to position III and waiting for the service light to flash three times, then releasing it. Turning off the ignition and then it is reset! If you miss the three flash or hold the button in to long i.e. until it stops flashing, it will NOT work.
Good luck.
Good luck.

I live on the East Coast in the U.S. and called the dealership. They said my exact year needs to be brought in to have the service light turned off and can not be done with the odometer. Figures so they can make a buck. I am contemplating about just pulling the bulb out since I do all the service to my S70 myself.

I suggest persistence if you don't get it first time up.
The number of flashes of the warning light is important prior to releasing the trip meter button and turning the key switch off.
Co ordination /timing is probably the reason you can't get it to go out.
Even if you cannot, the light should go out about 30 seconds after you move off anyway but will persist each time you start a trip, until you have cancelled it properly.
