Question How do I take the valves out of the head?

I am trying to replace the valve stem seals, and I might lap the valves. I have the head off since I am replacing the head gasket. How do I remove the valves? Would this tool: https://www.harborfreight.com/universal ... 60335.html from harbor freight work?

Question

So are you saying the one from harbor freight will not work? Is there a DIY version of what you posted since all the ones I could find were like $40?

No, that HF one won't work. That should be obvious.

Yes but you will have to use the threaded screw to compress and un- compress (is that a word?) each spring. Pretty tedious to do that for 20 valves. Compared to the style I showed where it's adjusted once, and you move the handle to compress the valve spring in one quick motion. Amazon has one like that for $5 more.
