Default How to remove the ECU from the plastic trim! Need help

Hi guys,
How can I remove the ECU from the white plastic trim.. I don't get it..

Takes a special tool. What year is that from?

Either get the special tool.

Or... You'll see two purple sliders on the bottom of each unit. Push one then the other. Keep doing this till the ECU can pull out. Don't push one to far then the other and don't push them completely out.

If that's a P2 (ME7.5/ME9) ECU it's mated to it's original VIN and useless in any other vehicle. This is why I asked.

Depends on the year it is from and what it is going into. What are the year/models of the donor and recipient vehicle?

The computer assembly you have pictured is from a 99 and newer car. If yours is a 98 it will not work. The 98 cars have the tool as part of the computer.

All 99 and up cars the computers cannot be swapped out.
