(Hydraulic) Motor Mount Replacement
I'm looking at replacing my motor mounts, the hydraulic ones. I found this DIY guide which seems helpful and sounds like a doable DIY
https://volvoforums.com/forum/volvo-...?ref=ccm-ext-0
Questions:
1) in order to raise the engine to get the new mounts in, do I just need to undo the top torque mount and the lower torque mount (the one by the transmission) as mentioned in the link? Meaning, I don't need to undo the bolts for the one by the passenger side? Tech mentioned to loosen most mounts. I just dont want to mess up the other mounts by raising the engine.
2) Also, my mechanic quoted $405 to do those two, is that reasonable?
3) It sounds like the front one is a bit easier to do than the back one. Would it be OK for me to just do the front one? Or would the engine then sit at the wrong angle with one new one and one old one?
4) which mounts should I get. fcpgroton has the Hutchinton and URO. Any advice?
Thanks

The lower transmission mount is easy to remove, 5 minutes so yes take it out/loose. Also the front motor mount near the right wheel is also easy to loosen so I would do it as well, however I would suggest supporting the motor if you loosen this one. I would also take the upper torque mount loose (just one bolt) before you take the frame loose to install that mount.
The only reason you would need to replace both is if both are bad. They rarely go bad and I would guess the best bet is to do those kind of mounts if a RMS is being done or some other major front repair.
