New to forum; I hope somebody can help. my 98 v70 was sitting in drive for past week. went to put key in igniton but it would not allow..for some reason there is a mechanical lock? which prevents me from putting key in... remote works to lock and unlock..key works to lock and unlock doors as well..but can not put key in ignition??

any thoughts

 

Is the shift lock overide button stuck down?

Is the button on the shift **** out all the way?

 

no neither of those are the issue, by the way the steering wheel is not locked

 

The lock assembly might be bad. Does it go in at all? There is little flaps in there that might be seized.
