Key doesn't go in all the way...still starts
I have a 99 V70XC and have a few problems:
1.the key doesn't go in all the way. The car still starts but I have to push the key in slightly to get the headlights/dash lights to come on. It's not covered under the extended warranty but is there a way I can fix this myself. This also allows me to take the key out while the car is still running and to turn the car off and pull the key out while it's still in gear.
2. I live in AZ so my A/C is on almost all the time. However sometimes when I'm driving the A/C will cut out for a few seconds and then come back on. Any ideas? Is something going wrong?
This isn't a problem but is there a way to get cooler air into the intake without spending a lot of money? Or someway to make then engine compartment cooler? Wrapping turbo with heat tape?

1. Maybe the ignition switch is bad.(Lock assembly). You could change it your self.
2.Is the freon level low? How old is the compressor?
