Hello everyone! My name is Chris and i have a serious problem with my 2002 V70 XC. I got the car about 4 years ago and it leaked a bit of oil but nothing serious. I have never had any serious problems until now. It has 180,xxx miles and runs like a top but it is leaking oil from the driver side rear cam seal. Ive replaced it twice along with the ENTIRE!! PCV system. Im sure the leak is coming from there as i can see it dripping with a spotting mirror. I really do not want to replace it again just to see it leak a quart of oil in my driveway every time a park. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

 

When I first did cam seals, I set my WAY too far in, and engine oil was just blowing right past the seal. They're supposed to be set just barely in from flush. I went through 2 seals before I figured out what was wrong and got it right.

How far in did you set the seal? Did you lightly oil the seal before setting it? Did you use a large socket, or piece of pvc to drive the seal in evenly?
