Looking to buy a '97 - '00 V70...
Hi all from a sunny London (for once, lol!). I've always toyed with the idea of buying a V70 since I was around 16 as took a ride in a Police one at a Police show in 2002 (was a T5-R).
I'm now looking to buy a V70 in the next month - 2 months, my questions are:
- Which one is more reliable? I've seen a 2.5T, 2.5-20V, and a 2.4T; which one is better out of these 3? I've been told to rule out AWD versions as mine will be a daily use car and so AWD tyres will cost a bit more than on usual cars.
- I'm assuming the turbo is LPT on both the 2.4 and 2.5, if I was to buy one of these, could I possibly have a light tune done?
- What should I look out for when buying either of the above V70's? Aside from the usual, mayo under cap, leaks around oil cap (failed Oil cap seal I'm guessing?).
I've seen 2 or 3 in the last week to confirm my thoughts of wanting one, and whilst I currently drive a hatchback, the V70's all handled Very well...I was surprised! Also I have a dog so the idea of a big estate (or Wagon as you guys say in the U.S.A) and a dog guard is appealing.
Many thanks, I look forward to hopefully going on your recommendations and owning one!
*Edit - name's Harry btw *
