I have a 04 V70 and when the motor is cold (higher revs), the forward muffler seems to rattle. I went under the car and checked for loose heat shields, pipes, etc, and when I knock on the muffler, I can hear the rattle. Does anyone know what this is? The car has 80k miles. Its amazing...my 10 year old Audi A8 has had barely anything wrong with it, but the wifes volvo keeps slowly falling apart...Thanks in advance for the help.

 

Hello, Mufflers have baffles inside which can become loose. How many miles on your 10 year old Audi A8? Kira

 

Thanks. Sounds like I need a new muffler. My Audi now has 146k miles. I've put about 100k miles on it in the past 4 years. I highly recommend the D2 A8's (1st gen)
